Call for Proposals

NBIA’s 26th International Conference on Business Incubation
May 6-9, 2012

Sheraton Atlanta Hotel
Atlanta, Ga.

NBIA is now accepting proposals for preconference workshops, educational presentations, roundtable discussions and facilitated panels to be presented during the 26th International Conference on Business Incubation, scheduled for May 6-9, 2012, in Atlanta. This event will bring together more than 600 incubation and economic development professionals from around the world. NBIA seeks dynamic speakers and leaders who can share knowledge, experiences and best practices related to business incubation and entrepreneur support. Our goal is to fulfill the educational needs of our diverse audience by having exceptional industry professionals address relevant topics.

We received many excellent submissions during the recent call for proposals. However, we’d like to generate some more ideas, and there are a few topic areas in which we didn’t receive many proposals,
including:

  • Client recruitment and selection strategies
  • Developing client mentoring and coaching programs
  • Managing the incubator facility (including lease agreements, space usage and utilities)
  • Organizing a network of incubators
  • Managing a soft landings program and assisting foreign companies
  • Working with women and minority entrepreneurs
  • Measuring economic impact and benchmarking your program
  • Managing an incubator in a rural area
