Keynote Addresses

Dinah Adkins, NBIA’s president and CEO, got the conference off to an official start on Monday morning before turning the floor over to Aris Melissaratos, secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. Melissaratos welcomed attendees to Maryland, sharing anecdotes from his experiences in supporting entrepreneurship and business development.

On Tuesday morning, serial entrepreneur-turned-motivational speaker Barry Moltz energized the crowd with anecdotes from his book You Need to Be A Little Crazy: The Truth About Starting A Small Business.

Wednesday morning got off to an energetic start with a keynote address from Freeman Hrabowski, the president of the University of Maryland Baltimore County. UMBC is home to techcenter@UMBC, a technology incubator that promotes collaboration and technology transfer between students and faculty. Unfortunately, the NBIA photographer had to leave before this address, so we are unable to share any photos of Dr. Hrabowski in action.
