Monday, Oct. 13
5 – 7 p.m.
After
the workshops end for the day, join our sponsors and other
attendees for an evening reception. Relax with colleagues
and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks in the exhibit area.
Take some time to chat with the sponsors to learn about the
products and services they offer that can enhance your incubation
program and assist client companies. The reception provides
the perfect opportunity to gather a group for dinner and a
night on the town in New Orleans.
Wednesday, Oct. 15
1 – 8 p.m.
The Incubators:
The first stop on this tour is a visit to the 60,000-square-foot
Louisiana Emerging Technology Center, which serves small and
start-up businesses that develop and commercialize university
technologies in the biotechnology, life science, agricultural
and environmental industries. Beyond lab and office space,
clients receive business and technical assistance such as
access to funding sources, legal resources, professional consulting,
and administrative staff and services.
The
second part of the tour will feature a visit to the Louisiana
Business & Technology Center, which is located on the
South Campus Research Park of Louisiana State University.
The 30,000-square-foot LBTC facility is home to approximately
25 clients and has graduated nearly 150 companies since its
inception in 1988. In 2005 LBTC was selected as NBIA’s
Randall M. Whaley Incubator of the Year, and the center is
credited with creating more than 9,200 jobs for Louisiana.
The Party:
After touring the incubator facilities, everyone will gather
on the grounds of LBTC for a Louisiana-style party. Louisiana
is known for its cuisine, and you will not go hungry at this
event. LBTC will provide an authentic menu of bayou favorites,
including boiled crawfish, fried catfish, and a smorgasbord
of Creole and Cajun foods. Enjoy the unique regional cuisine
while jamming to live music at LBTC’s park-like property.
Fee: $49
Please note: A boxed lunch will be provided on the
bus ride to the Louisiana Emerging Technology Center.
