The scholarship program gives first-time conference attendees an opportunity to attend sessions, network with industry professionals and attain valuable tools to take back to their incubators. Without the scholarships, these individuals might otherwise not be able to attend the event due to financial constraints. Click here to download the application. Deadline for submission is Feb. 26.

Classics from the NBIA Bookstore

It was 25 years ago this summer that the National Business Incubation Association was founded. Right from the beginning, NBIA Publications has provided high-quality information to incubation professionals. Through extensive, continuous research and reporting, NBIA has compiled the definitive body of work on business incubation. What’s really interesting is how well these books hold up – several older titles are still useful references, and others have been updated and provide an interesting way to look at the development of the industry. To learn more about all our “classic and still cool” titles or to order securely online, click here.

Farewell to a visionary leader

As we reflect on the accomplishments of 2009, we also want to share with you a retrospective summing up the many contributions of NBIA’s former President & CEO Dinah Adkins. During her 21 years as chief executive of the association, Adkins developed NBIA into the world’s largest and most international organization devoted to business incubation. Adkins retired in August after nearly a year-long search for her successor, David Monkman. Click here to read about the innovative programs Adkins introduced, the novel concepts she championed and the strategic decisions she made, which has helped NBIA become what it is today.
