NBIA conducted a comprehensive review of its certificate program curriculum in early 2012 to better meet our goal of providing a real-world view of best practices for incubator management. Among the resulting changes was the replacement of the 75-minute conference session requirement with a newly developed full-day workshop.
Previously, participants were required to take five 75-minute sessions at our International Conference on Business Incubation in addition to three daylong workshops. Certificate program participants are now required to take four daylong courses.
Participants who started the program prior to June 2012 can choose to complete the certificate by meeting the old requirements at NBIA's 2013 International Conference on Business Incubation or by meeting the new four-workshop requirement. If participants do not take the sessions at NBIA's 2013 conference, to be held in Boston April 7-10, they must meet the new four-course requirement to complete the program. If participants complete the sessions at the 2013 conference, or if they had previously completed the sessions at prior NBIA conferences, they can choose to earn their certificate under the old guidelines: by taking five 75-minute conference sessions and three daylong workshops (Facilities Management, The Fundamentals of Incubator Management, andServing Client Companies).
