NBIA conducted a comprehensive review of its certificate program curriculum in 2012 to better meet our goal of providing a real-world view of best practices for incubator management. Among the resulting changes was the replacement of the 75-minute conference session requirement with a newly developed full-day workshop called Entrepreneurship.
Previously, participants were required to take five 75-minute sessions at our International Conference on Business Incubation in addition to three daylong workshops. Certificate program participants are now required to take four daylong courses. The 75-minute sessions are no longer required.
Participants who started the program prior to June 2012 and who have already completed the five 75-minute sessions can choose to complete the certificate by meeting the old requirements (five 75-minute sessions and three daylong workshops: Facilities Management, The Fundamentals of Incubator Management, and Serving Client Companies) or by meeting the new four-workshop requirement (the original three daylong workshops plus Entrepreneurship).
If you started the program after June 2012 or if you have not yet completed the five 75-minute sessions, you are required to meet the new four-workshop requirement.
