Soft Landings Program Details

Incubators that qualify for the Soft Landings International Incubator designation offer special programs and types of assistance that help foreign companies establish in the incubator’s domestic market. These could include translation services, language training, help meeting government regulations, cultural training, immigration and visa assistance and much more. NBIA also offers a Provisional Soft Landings International Incubator designation for programs that are working toward having foreign and nondomestic clients, but haven’t had success serving those segments for at least 18 months. Click here to learn more about that option.

Who is eligible?

NBIA member incubators who meet the qualifications are eligible to apply. Member incubators may be designed exclusively to serve foreign business clients or may serve both domestic clients and foreign clients. Regardless, the incubator must have developed resources and programs specifically designed to meet the needs of foreign companies. Eligible incubators meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an active NBIA membership (at least one individual in each applicant incubator must be an NBIA member)
  • Can demonstrate program success in serving foreign/nondomestic businesses for at least 18 months prior to the Soft Landings application due date (if you do not meet this criterion, click here to learn more about the Provisional Soft Landings International Incubator designation)
  • Have on-site incubator management
  • Provide a full range of business services addressing the needs of foreign firm
  • Have a policy for graduating companies

You can gain positive exposure from this designation, and show your leadership in working with foreign companies.

What benefits result from earning this designation?
