Keynote
Speaker
Innovation management has changed significantly; old-school
approaches are not sufficient to guarantee success. Drawing
on his books Making Innovation Work and The Creative
Enterprise, as well as recent work with leading companies,
Rob Shelton will present examples
and describe three key changes affecting incubator management
and performance:
- Innovation is a team sport. Successfully managing an
incubator is a question of Know Who, not just Know
How. Success depends on internal and external teams,
effective collaboration, and well-managed partnerships.
- The design and operation of the innovation process must
match the type of innovation. The new design philosophy
used by leading innovators is How you innovate determines
what you innovate.
- Resource management for incubators and all types of innovation
requires clear, crisp metrics and meaningful motivators.
