Rutgers Food Innovation Center to “Graduate” First International Client to New Facility

Investment Opportunities at NJBIN Incubators

EcoWalls LLC, a Rutgers EcoComplex client, is marketing vertical hydroponic gardens for indoor building decoration. The company has an excellent marketing program, and sales are expected to commence in 60-90 days. Recently, EcoWalls vertical gardens were featured at Disney's Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. (more...)

Recent Impacts

MET Tech Inc., a New Jersey City University Business Development Incubator client since July 2007, graduated to larger facilities near the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City in May 2010. During its time at BDI, the company grew from a one-person operation to a viable company with the staff of six, including two PhDs. The relocation will enable the company to expand and set up prototyping and testing facilities. (Read more about MET Tech Inc. in Incubator News.)

EDA Reauthorization Could Provide More Flexible Incubator Funding

The U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration is a longtime funder of incubator facilities in the United States, but no federal funding currently is available for incubator operations. Passage of the landmark financial reform bill, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (H.R. 4173), was a major legislative achievement for Congress this year.
