WILKES-BARRE, PA – Yellowcakes, Inc. and the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber will cosponsor the upcoming event, “conVerge,” bringing technology entrepreneurs and experienced investors together on Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. – noon at the Innovation Center @ Wilkes-Barre.

Successful early-stage technology executives and angel and venture capital investors will “conVerge” to discuss challenging sales issues faced by early-stage companies. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss sales strategies with venture capitalists and angel investors during the breakout sessions.

Pete Cafarchio, vice president of business development for PestPatrol, will be the event kick-off speaker. Cafarchio is a veteran of four start-ups and was instrumental in building partnerships with players such as Yahoo!, Dell Computer, Comcast and Computer Associates (who ultimately acquired PestPatrol). Fred Beste, founder of Mid Atlantic Venture Funds, will share his experience dealing with entrepreneurs as part of the panel session. Sabah Dabby, an active angel investor and member of the leadership team of State College-based Restek Corporation, will moderate the panel discussion.

“By partnering with Yellowcakes, we are able to bring these high-level resources to entrepreneurs from all over the region. This event strengthens our commitment to the start-up community,” explains John Augustine III, director of Innovation Center operations and entrepreneurial development.

“We’re thrilled to have successful tech entrepreneurs like Pete Cafarchio and key executives from Galaxy Brush, Balester Optical and Backbone Securities participate in the event,” says Yellowcakes’ founder Jennifer Hammaker. “The new Innovation Center is a tremendous facility to host such a progressive event in Northeast Pennsylvania.”
