ATHENS, Ohio—The National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) and Turnstone, a Steelcase Company, are partnering to bring high-performance office furniture to early-stage companies at discount prices.

Under an agreement announced today, Turnstone will offer special pricing to NBIA members on the entire line of Turnstone products and select Steelcase products. NBIA members are business incubators that house and provide start-up services to new and fledgling firms.

"This partnership will allow our members and their start-up clients to take advantage of the joint purchasing power of the organization," Dinah Adkins, president and CEO of NBIA, said. "Our members and their clients can now purchase smart-looking, comfortable furniture they would have otherwise been unable to afford."

The agreement allows Steelcase dealers throughout North America to work directly with incubation personnel to design work environments that best suit each program. "This partnership will help dealers meet small businesses at their start-up stage, when a strong, long-lasting relationship can take hold," Kyle Williams, general manager of Turnstone, said. "Turnstone is committed to working with NBIA, its members and incubator clients to create office set-ups that meet the needs of emerging businesses."

Since 1959, business incubation programs have helped accelerate the growth of new and emerging companies by providing business support resources and services. Today, there are more than 900 of these programs in the United States, up from 12 in 1980.

The National Business Incubation Association is the world's oldest and largest organization advancing business incubation and entrepreneurship. Since 1985, it has provided thousands of professionals with information, education, advocacy and networking resources to bring excellence to the process of assisting early-stage companies.
