Business Incubation Organization Launches Newsletter
November 06, 2006
ATHENS, Ohio—ATHENS, Ohio – The National
Business Incubation Association has announced the publication
of a new electronic newsletter, NBIA Insights,
the first NBIA publication to be written specifically
for nonmemb ers. The monthly publication launched in
August.
“Many nonmembers have an interest in business
incubation and entrepreneur support programs, but might
not be familiar with NBIA. In some cases, these individuals
are interested in looking into business incubation but
don’t know where to turn,” said Dinah Adkins,
NBIA president and CEO.
Every month, NBIA Insights offers a sampling
of the resources that NBIA has to offer. It covers the
latest news of the incubation world and offers tips
and advice from industry professionals. For example,
topics covered in the first two issues included a discussion
of the term “virtual incubation,” tips for
helping entrepreneurs stay on top of debt collection,
and advice from incubator managers about whether to
intervene if an entrepreneur is making a bad business
decision.
The newsletter also showcases NBIA’s most germane
programs and books, and offers excerpts from the association’s
three member newsletters, Memberabilia, NBIA
Updates and NBIA Review. It offers incubation
and entrepreneur support professionals a way to plug
in to the essence of the industry, even if they’re
not members of NBIA.
“NBIA Insights contributes to dispelling
myths and creating greater understanding of business
incubation and the importance of entrepreneurs to our
economy,” Adkins said. “Someone might subscribe
to learn more about business incubation without committing
to developing an incubator.”
