Wanted: Clean-energy companies to make investment presentations

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is accepting applications from clean-energy companies for presentations at its 21st NREL Industry Growth Forum, to be held October 28-30 in Denver.

Presenting companies will be selected by a committee of clean-energy investors. All companies will receive comments on their applications; companies selected for participation in the forum will be coached on their presentations beforehand, as well as receive detailed feedback from and discussions with a panel of investors at the forum itself.

A new feature of this year's forum will be presentations by companies looking for expansion capital or project financing. Previously, presentations were limited to seed and early-stage venture funding. Companies that participated in four previous forums raised a cumulative $1.2 billion. (See results of last year's event at www.nrel.gov/technologytransfer/igf_presentations.html.)

In addition to the presentations, attendees can preview other promising early-stage businesses developing renewable, clean-energy and energy-efficiency technologies, while networking with leading clean-energy investors. Special sessions will focus on topics such as investing in clean energy and building a clean-tech cluster.

Applications for company presentations are due by Aug. 8. To download an application template, visit www.cleanenergyforum.com/apply.php. For more information, contact Judson Rogers or Luis Matheus, application and recruitment process managers, at (303) 275-4471.

NBIA remembers Joe Mancuso
