The use of benchmarking to improve performance – both in business and in economic development – has increased rapidly in recent years. Based on demand from incubator managers, the
Tennessee Valley Authority, the Appalachian Regional Commission
and the National Business Incubation Association developed a Peer-to-Peer Benchmarking Program available to any incubator manager (NBIA members and non-members in ARC/TVA regions) that
can help you to:
- Confirm your program’s excellence
- Get customized guidance and consulting from experienced
incubator managers
- Acquire information and tools to improve program performance
- Gain support for projects such as acquisition of a
new building, changes in governance or access to additional
resources
Here's how the program works:
- Two highly-qualified incubator professionals review materials you provide to gain insights on a wide range of your incubator’s practices,
services and outcomes
- The reviewers visit your incubator and interview incubator staff, clients,
graduates and community stakeholders
- You receive a confidential report detailing areas of
high achievement and suggestions for improving incubator operations
