iMusicTech, the sole music technology company in Hong Kong, has invented a device that lets the whole iWorld sing. An Apple-licensed software and hardware developer, iMusicTech has created the first iPhone karaoke docking device in the world – iMusic Station. This product enables users to play karaoke videos and sing freely with one click of the patented vocal remover. In addition to producing this unique iPhone accessory, iMusicTech aims to promote Hong Kong music and technology worldwide by developing interactive music-related products using advanced technology. iMusicTech has registered more than 10 patents and trademarks in the United States and Hong Kong. The company has won Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology Awards and Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association Awards.
Incubator’s role: Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp.’s Incu-Tech Business Incubation Programme conducts monthly networking luncheons and informative seminars on management and technology, which has helped iMusicTech grow from two directors to 15 staff members. In addition, participating in HKSTPC’s mentoring program helped iMusicTech’s directors learn more about various business topics of interest to a start-up company. “My mentor has provided a lot of valuable business advice and helped us develop marketing skills and presentation skills, contributing to both the growth of the company and the development of its image,” says Kenneth Chau, iMusicTech managing director.
